DEADLY GARDEN welcomes you in!
It’s finally here! Deadly Garden, my greatest effort of any creative medium thus far!
And you can watch it right here!
The premiere at New Parkway Theater was so fantastic it took me a week and a half to recover. But now I want the rest of the world in on the magic of this 80s horror tale.
Thank you to everyone who showed their support through this incredible challenge.
As for me? I’m working on the extra rad Murder Dollhouse True Macabre Trilogy DVD set. Can’t mess around with not being the coolest thing ever…
Imaginary Movies opens (FRI) Movie Premiere (SAT), Eastbay Express Article
Finally, it’s almost here! Imaginary Movies opens this Friday at RPS Gallery, with special All Day event on Saturday.
And here’s a very nice article on the Eastbay Express about it all. Can’t wait to pick up a physical copy Eastbay Express- IMAGINARY MOVIES COMES TO LIFE
I only wish they dropped a few more artist names in there. At least they named Matt multiple times, even though I wish they would have included he’s been doing this shit for like 10 years or something. Whatever, it’s sweet. It’s a perfect trailer for all that’s in store. And they even plugged the bands for the after party
Ok, here’s the game plan.
FRIDAY -ART MURMUR, gallery opens. Tons of fun at RPS Gallery, and on the streets of Oakland, eating from food trucks, checking out the other art shows and getting drinks. FYI, Deadly Garden will get screened during New Parkway’s First Fridays Film Showings. But if you’re coming on Saturday, just a quick peak for you! No spoiling!
SATURDAY- Our big day!
3pm -5pm: Movie Premiere at NEW PARKWAY! – I’m going to get there early; I’d suggest getting there at least 15 minutes early yourself. We have a very full schedule so no time to lose. We’re showing the 2 start attractions, DEADLY GARDEN & DADDY’S BOYS as well as a few classic shorts from me and Matt and some fake trailers created by special guests.
5pm-7pm: RPS Gallery-, after seeing the films in all their glory we’re going to all head down the block to RPS Gallery where we’ll see the heart of this project, the artwork! And it’s some seriously amazing creative work from some super star talents. (Teppei Ando, Mary Cook, Lenae Day, Cheyenne Ellet, Joe Flow, Matt Hewitt, Erika Lipkes, Aaron Olson, Jonah Olson, Deth P. Sun, Tracy Whitford with Cool Kid Videos and featuring Alika Cooper).
We’ll also get a special treat in the form of a musical performance by SK Kakraba Lobi.
Then we’ll break for dinner and whatnot.
9pm: Stork Club After Party Rock Fest: The day will come to a close and the night will only be beginning. 4 equally rad bands. Each band has at least one member involved in the Film Fest portion and/or the Gallery portion of Imaginary Movies. The band roster is POSTCOITUS, BARFTH, THE STEGANOTHINGS and EXCELSIOR SESSIONS. All night long, rock and roll with the happiest people on earth. It’s going to be really fun.
Can’t wait to see you!
Imaginary Movies and Corpus Delicti at Book Zoo
Check out the official poster for Deadly Garden with artwork by my friend, the amazing Alika Cooper. It’s good enough to lick.
The Art show will be up all October at RPS Gallery (2278 Telegraph Ave)
but the screening at THE NEW PARKWAY is one day only. Saturday October 5th from 3pm-5pm at The New Parkway. So be there or be square!

CORPUS DELICTI at BOOK ZOO
a little late to post this but it didn’t get confirmed until just yesterday. Anyways, Corpus Delicti: tale of Joe Ball the Alligator Man (our first original script animated film), is getting screened at Book Zoo in Oakland. Book Zoo is a really sweet independent book shop, and I’m really happy our gator bait classic is getting played there.
